Money 101 Education enrollees are eligible to schedule a FREE private session with any instructor to discuss any money-related topic. This offer applies long after course participation, and many come back a year or two later if they have a financial question on which they would like information or an opinion.

A private session can be used to review course material, discuss a personal concern, OR on any topic related to money including:

  • Help on negotiating a better employment compensation package.
  • Apply for a loan (and increase your chances of success)
  • Improve your Credit Score
  • Understand the retirement fund choices provided by your employer.
  • Prepare a Case Information Statement (financial papers) when going through a divorce.
  • Set realistic financial goals and follow-up accountability
  • Tax issues, including those applicable to entrepreneurs, and how to avoid underpayment penalties.
  • Evaluate real estate opportunities for personal or investment use.
  • Email the instructor with whom they want to meet (see the Instructor’s page)
  • Confirm the date and segment in which you have enrolled
  • Reserve a full hour for the session, as that amount of time is generally needed.
  • Log in using a full-screen computer to facilitate screen sharing (not a phone or iPad).
  • Be in a quiet room and schedule the appointment to avoid interruptions.
  • Have your camera on, with a light shining on your face (bright windows behind you make it hard to see)

Clients can have a spouse/partner/friend/relative participate in the session. Clients can also request that the session be recorded and sent to them for review. Otherwise, sessions are NOT recorded.

If you are interested in improving your net worth, it is recommended you prepare an ANNUALIZED cash flow statement (form 3.01) and a personal financial statement (form 4.01) before the session.

To learn how to prepare those documents, read handouts 3.00 and 4.00, respectively. If a client completes these forms – even if they are imperfect – it allows us to focus on action steps. If you are struggling with these forms, we can also use the session to work on it together.

Handouts 3.00, 3.01, 4.00 and 4.01 can be found here:https://money101education.com/handouts-foundation-segment/

All information is treated as confidential, and the instructor is bound by Score’s code of ethics, which includes a confidentiality agreement.

Expect to receive an email titled “FOLLOW UP” within three days, which will include a “TO DO” list, items on which you should focus on to improve your financial situation. While you are encouraged to reach out by email anytime, you have questions, it is appropriate to book another appointment only after you have made progress on the “TO DO” list.
