Emil Salman

I am a former photojournalist who spent 17 years with a leading Israeli newspaper before immigrating to the United States and embracing my most rewarding role yet: full-time dad. Today, I’m the proud father of two middle-school children whom I homeschool. They keep life busy, meaningful, and fun.

My passion for personal finance grew from personal experience.

As the child of immigrants, I often helped my parents navigate financial decisions in a system unfamiliar to them. I also watched them be taken advantage of more than once and heard the painful story of a family friend who lost everything in the stock market. Those experiences taught me an important lesson: financial knowledge is not something people are born with – it can be learned and can change lives.

Determined to understand money for myself and my family, I began studying investing, personal finance, and wealth-building strategies. What started as a personal mission became a true calling. Over the years, I have read extensively, kept learning, and became the trusted “money person” for friends and family seeking practical guidance and clarity.

I know that for many people, money can feel intimidating or confusing. Too often, they rely on hope rather than a plan. My goal is to help people replace fear with confidence by understanding how investing works, making thoughtful, research-based decisions, and steadily building wealth over time with discipline and consistency.

I also have a passion for taxes (hard to believe, but true). I have completed the IRS VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) training program and have helped senior citizens and low-income individuals prepare their personal tax returns. I would be happy to answer questions about tax-related matters.

My mother keeps a laminated “lucky” dollar bill on her desk, believing it will bring prosperity. I choose a different path: learning how markets work and how disciplined investing can create real financial security.
